Health

OBJECTIVES

The objective is to improve and enhance the livelihood of children in disadvantaged communities. Our strategy is to provide effective early medical intervention, to assist health practitioners to deliver expert health care, and minimize the inconvenience caused to children from lack of adequate healthcare, which potentially impacts on their education and social well-being. An equally important role of Trust is to provide health education emphasizing on hygiene, sanitary health, prevention of communicable diseases, teenage pregnancies and drug & alcohol abuse.

OVERVIEW

The long-term goal of governments and international funding agencies has been to provide adequate health care to disadvantaged communities. However, even with large funding, certain underprivileged groups are left out due to their geographical location or lack of representation. Even more important is a social reality: there just are not enough funding and support to adequately serve the entire adolescent population. Since we believe that the health of underprivileged children in our community will continue to exist for a long time to come, we have incorporated this reality into our planning from the start. Our plan, therefore, is to provide adequate health care to disadvantaged children.

HEALTH EDUCATION AND DISEASE PREVENTION

Notable amongst them are potable water, emerging pandemics, population control, good hygiene and sanitation practices, basic education, and simple techniques for improving their crops and lives. One cannot expect to upgrade the people’s health without simultaneously making an impact on these issues, and vice versa.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

The need to rectify this problem has become critical especially given the fact that one billion (15% of the world population - According to the World Bank) of people in many areas across the world are poor and lack the proper awareness of health issues. To facilitate this we plan to involve the local population in the operation and in the community outreach programs.
